QUEEN OF BEES
Victory Lies in the Eyes of the Bee-Holder!
Strategy Tabletop Game
A deck-building card game where victory lies in the hands of the bee-holder!
Up to 6 players sit around a table and battle it out, trying to build their 4 colonies (each colony requires 5 bees to complete, and anyone can play on anyone's colony).
Throughout the game, players can change the game state using Season cards, give others disadvantages or give themselves advantages through Action cards, or strengthen/weaken colonies with special Upgrade/Downgrade bees that have unique abilities.
If a player completely builds their 4 colonies and pulls out a Queen Bee, they win and the game is over!

My Role:

I started this game as a personal project alongside my good friend, Stuart Little. Together, we agreed on a card template, the rules of the game, and the many different kinds of bees. I then took it upon myself to create art assets, flavor text, and physical cards so I could playtest the game with friends and family. In this sense, I am a designer, artist, playtester, and developer of the game.
KING'S CREST
Accumulate points to wipe out your enemies!
Perfect-Information Tabletop Game
In this 2-4 player game, you play as one of 4 warring Kings; White, Yellow, Red, and Blue. Throughout the game, players accumulate points from the center, which are necessary to commit the actions stated on the reference cards, most of which act to deplete the health points of other players.
There are two types of actions: Normal actions, which can only be done during a player's turn, and reactions, which can be done whenever a player is attacked or challenged. As the game progresses, players will be able to act out various strategies, including player politics and team-ups, point hoarding, and more. There are various levels of strategy, too, as a dead player can still attack as a ghost, which means they can get revenge, win it all for themselves, or put others at a disadvantage.
With many different player-states, strategies, and play styles, the question remains: will you be a passive king or a tyrant?

My Role:
In making this game, I wrote the rule sheet using technical writing, created some physical game assets using art assets (tokens, King's Crest, point bowl), and helped refine the game by continuously playtesting it and by attending group meeting consistently, giving my input and advice.

My Role:
Here, I helped conceive the base premise of the two alphas for the games, created game assets (final board, the tokens, the logo), helped create the cards alongside Nico Roberts, helped finalize the rule sheet, playtested multiple times, and took notes on the second playtest. I also created the Analysis Spreadsheet Analysis alongside Josh Hampton.
